The CIA’s Destruction of Democracy

For years now, I have tried to expose the real purpose of the CIA in American life and geopolitical events.  If you’re still not convinced of that the CIA essentially destroyed American democracy, read the quotes below.  These men were insiders, and they had no reason to lie.

“It is common knowledge among all the [intelligence services] of America and Europe…that the disastrous 9-11 terrorist attack has been planned and realized from the CIA and Mossad.” –former Italian President Francesco Cossiga, speaking to the Italian press

“An intelligence service is the ideal vehicle for a conspiracy.” –Allen Dulles, Director of the CIA, 1953-61

“In a very real and terrifying sense, our Government is the CIA and the Pentagon, with Congress reduced to a debating society. Of course, you can’t spot this trend to fascism by casually looking around. You can’t look for such familiar signs as the swastika, because they won’t be there. We won’t build Dachaus and Auschwitzes; the clever manipulation of the mass media is creating a concentration camp of the mind that promises to be far more effective in keeping the populace in line. We’re not going to wake up one morning and suddenly find ourselves in gray uniforms goose-stepping off to work. But this isn’t the test. The test is: What happens to the individual who dissents? In Nazi Germany, he was physically destroyed; here, the process is more subtle, but the end results can be the same. I’ve learned enough about the machinations of the CIA in the past year to know that this is no longer the dreamworld America I once believed in. The imperatives of the population explosion, which almost inevitably will lessen our belief in the sanctity of the individual human life, combined with the awesome power of the CIA and the defense establishment, seem destined to seal the fate of the America I knew as a child and bring us into a new Orwellian world where the citizen exists for the state and where raw power justifies any and every immoral act. I’ve always had a kind of knee-jerk trust in my Government’s basic integrity, whatever political blunders it may make. But I’ve come to realize that in Washington, deceiving and manipulating the public are viewed by some as the natural prerogatives of office. Huey Long once said, ‘Fascism will come to America in the name of anti-fascism.’  I’m afraid, based on my own experience, that fascism will come to America in the name of national security.” –Jim Garrison, New Orleans District Attorney, 1967

“But what counter-insurgency really comes down to is the protection of the capitalists back in America, their property and their privileges. US national security, as preached by US leaders, is the security of the capitalist class in the US, not the security of the rest of the people.” –Philip Agee, CIA Counterintelligence Officer, 1975

“Fundamentally, the founding fathers of U.S. intelligence were liars. The better you lied and the more you betrayed, the more likely you would be promoted. These people attracted and promoted each other. Outside of their duplicity, the o¬nly thing they had in common was a desire for absolute power. I did things that, in looking back on my life, I regret. But I was part of it and I loved being in it. . . Allen Dulles, Richard Helms, Carmel Offie, and Frank Wisner were the grand masters. If you were in a room with them you were in a room full of people that you had to believe would deservedly end up in hell.” Angleton slowly sipped his tea and then said, “I guess I will see them there, soon.”

Angleton and Dulles–Two Despicable CIA Rats Exposed

My Australian counterpart, Greg Maybury, recently wrote a compelling blog about ex-CIA counterintellingence chief James Jesus Angleton, one of the most ruthless, paranoid, and admired spies in Coporations Invisible Army (CIA).  I am reprinting a portion of the blog here, along with my reaction to it.

Maybury writes, “…the CIA’s legendary chief of counter-intelligence – its brain for years – was James Jesus Angleton (aka The Kingfisher)…the narrative of the CIA would not be complete without him to be sure.

“He began his career shortly after the formation of the CIA in 1947, and was the station chief in Italy just after the war ended. Here he was instrumental in the undermining of the bourgeoning communist movement taking root in the later 40s, and amongst the tactics he used was eliciting the support of Italy’s Mafia, thereby setting a long-time precedent for the agency that was to feature frequently in its clandestine operations for decades to come.

“He was amongst the most out-there of people, a TS Eliot quoting/loving, chain-smoking, hard-drinking, orchid-growing, fly-fishing, gem collecting, insomniac raconteur who burned the spy-candle at both ends. Exceedingly well read and (counter?) intelligent, he was something of a polymath. In his day many considered this dude the sharpest tool in the spy shed, bar none! JJ’s motto: ‘absolute security at any cost’, one that would prove to be his undoing, as we will see.

“The term ‘Angeltonian’ even entered the espionage vernacular to become a byword in spy circles for overly conspiratorial and/or obsessively paranoid behaviour. Angleton was like DCI Allen Dulles alter ego – he was the uber-counter-spy, the spookiest of spooks in the spookier end of the spook business.

“If his boss Dulles was the Dagger in the Cloak and Dagger business, JJ was the Cloak! His spycraft was apparently second to none in the non-communist world. Even the Soviets had a fan club going of sorts; he was that good at what he did, they even copied his methods, proving that even in the spy world, the ‘imitation as the sincerest form of flattery’ thing still applies. He was once quoted as saying that: ‘Deception is a state of mind and the mind of the state’.

“The origin of his nick-name The Kingfisher is uncertain, but interestingly they are a bird species that have evolved unique visual faculties whereby they can see equally well in polar opposite environments, in their case air and water. A nice metaphor one suspects given his line of work, especially if it was not intended.

“On a more mundane level his nick-name may have been because of his striking features, which were indeed bird-like, if not ‘kingfisherish’. He eventually rose to the position of chief of Counter-intelligence at The Company, and although it’s not known if he ever sought the position or was even offered it, he would have been a prime candidate for Director either way. He could even have interrogated/interviewed himself for the job, a bonus. The motherfucker was that good.

– Spy v Spy Redux –

“He served under Dulles, and then later on Dulles successors, firstly John McCone, then Richard Helms, and for a brief time William Colby. A cryptographer by training (and it has to be said) inclination, he was also very knowledgeable about nuclear technology, having worked on the Manhattan Project (of which more in a later episode), and was apparently involved in the breaking of the Germans’ Enigma code, which did so much to aid the allied effort in the latter part of the War.

“Both these skills were handy during a Cold War. If there is such a thing as spy heaven (a safe house or waiting room in the afterlife maybe?), most of them be coming up to the Kingfisher, high-fiving his avian-eyed ass and be saying how much they ‘love his work’. As indicated he was as paranoid as they come, for the most part a truly valuable character trait in the counter-spy business, given that the counter espionage and counter intelligence business is all about stopping the targets of your spying from doing what you’re trying to do to them, which is to spy on them. By definition, this means being permanently paranoid.

“Or more accurately, the counter spy/espionage/intelligence ‘schtick’ is more about ensuring that the spies on the other side enjoy minimal success at recruiting your own spies to spy on you and not them as you’d prefer them to continue doing without you finding out about it until it is too late.

“However, like JJ often did, I digress!

“And if Angleton trusted anyone, it is not known whether it worked to their advantage or not, and we’re not even talking about the Soviets here. We’re talking his own – indeed, especially his own – CIA colleagues. He was one of the coldest and most calculating of the Langley Cold Warriors. A strong pro-war hawk on Vietnam, he was also notoriously known for his surveillance of anti-war protesters, political activists and domestic dissidents (of which there were no shortages) during the Vietnam War and throughout the 60’s and early 70’s. He has also been frequently mentioned as having involvement in, knowledge of, and/or connections to the JFK hit and the Norma Jean suicide/accidental death/murder.

– The Hollow Man –

“As good as Angleton was, he wasn’t good enough though to pick up on arguably the biggest spies in the West before they defected to the USSR, who were located in the UK, and operating out of the august Cambridge University.

“As CIA CI chief, part of his responsibility was liaison with foreign intelligence and security officials and spooks, including with Mossad, SAVAK and MI6. Although some say he had his suspicions about the Cambridge group before anyone else did including the British – yes, he was that paranoid – he failed to act on these in time to prevent their subsequent defection. This was an outcome from which he never recovered, and indeed amongst many other missteps, it brought about his downfall eventually, but not for a long time to come.

“After the belated discovery of the aforementioned Cambridge spies (one of whom – Philby – Angleton worked with closely in London during the war, and later got pissed with on a frequent basis, and with whom he shared secrets that got many Western agents killed), Angleton became even more paranoid, seeing spies all over the Langley complex, which began to irritate a lot of people, managing to piss off not only then DCI Richard Helms, but also J Edgar Hoover over at the FBI HQ as well, with Hoover pulling the pin on any further cooperation with the super-spook.

“To piss Edgar off, or to have him pull the pin on you as we’ve seen in an earlier episode, was not all that difficult and certainly not always a good career move to repeat it inside or outside of the FBI. And as for being paranoid, there were few more so than Edgar. But Angleton survived Edgar; he was that ‘good’! And that paranoid! History tells us that paranoia is often proven most justified when it is the most ignored, but many would argue the lessons of history don’t appear to have become a collective political wisdom in the West, and especially some might say in Washington D.C., or for that matter in Langley.

“Not even Angleton though could last forever in the CIA. The culture didn’t make allowances for that. His increasingly pathological paranoia eventually brought him unstuck.”

Maybury’s apt portrayal of JJ Angleton left me chilled and angry.  To think that America was literally turned over, post-WWII, to rats like him and the Dulles brothers never stops infuriating me.  Shrewd, ruthless, paranoid, warmongering sociopaths controlled our foreign and domestic policy for over half a century and still do.  Of course, they could not have done it in a vacuum.  When considering the sources and consequences of Corporation Invisible Army’s consolidation of power, one must remember that Operation MK-ULTRA (the covert experimentation with and drugging of innocent Americans) relied on Operation Mockingbird (the subversion of the free press); Operation PBSUCCESS (the overthrow of duly elected foreign governments) went hand in hand with Operation Paperclip (the secret recruitment of Nazi war criminals to serve in our intelligence, medicine, military and aerospace spheres).  Angleton and Dulles made sure they could run roughshod over democracy in secret.  In so doing, they amassed power unprecedented in our history.  More power than presidents, legislative bodies, the Pentagon, and the media combined.

While I concur with most of the content, I take exception to three assertions–one) von Braun was a Nazi…his reputation was softened by a compliant press (which assiduously, and at Dulles’s insistence, referred to him as a “German” scientist) once he emigrated to America and his new position at NASA; two) ALL Nazis were war criminals because they either knew of the death camps or participated in the executions; three) Dulles was sympathetic to Hitler and the Reich because his Sullivan and Cromwell clients had big-time investments to protect.  Dulles’s “Heil Hitler” salutation in correspondences with the Fuhrer is telling.
May Angleton and Dulles and all the other rats burn in hell for eternity.

JFK Conspiracy Fact #3: The Incredible George DeMohrenschildt: The Man Who Knew Everyone In The JFK Case

If you want to know how and why Lee Harvey Oswald was set up to take the fall in the assassination of JFK, and if you want to know who are the most likely suspects to have pulled off THE crime of the 20th century, all you have to do is trace the actions of one George DeMohrenschildt, CIA covert asset, oil geologist, Russian royalty, and international man of mystery.  It can be said, with only the slightest bit of exaggeration, that DeMohrenschildt knew everyone involved in The Big Hit.  In fact, for a time he was Lee Harvey Oswald’s best friend in Dallas, and he was also good friends with the Bush family.  But I get ahead of myself.  Let’s start in the beginning.

Descended from Russian royalty, DeMohrenschildt came to the U.S. when his family was exiled during the Revolution.  When the czar was kicked out, so were all his cronies—George’s family among them.  Accordingly, DeMohrenschildt grew up with an abiding hatred of Communism, and early on associated himself with fringe right-wing groups and causes in America.  And in the meantime he got himself an advanced degree in geology, with a specialty in underground exploration for oil.  This made him a valuable asset to American oil millionaires who needed to know where to drill.  It did not hurt that George’s politics were quite agreeable to oil tycoons like H.L. Hunt, Clint Murchison, Syd Richardson, and D.H. Byrd for whom he worked at various times.

DeMohrenschildt made some advantageous contacts as a favorite of oil boomers.  One of them was George H.W. Bush.  It was through Bush that DeMohrenschildt became a CIA covert asset.  Traveling the world to find oil gushers for the wealthy was good cover for a CIA asset to spy on friendlies and unfriendlies around the globe.   Bush knew all the right people to get DeMohrenschildt hooked up with the spy agency.  The Bushes and the Dulleses went way back, and Allen Dulles was CIA Director from 1953-1961.  George Bush denies having known DeMohrenschildt more than just as a passing acquaintance, but there is ample evidence to prove otherwise.

DeMohrenschildt was  well acquainted with the Bush family. DeMohrenschildt’s nephew, Eddie Hooker, had been George H.W. Bush’s prep school roommate at Phillips Academy in Massachusetts. DeMohrenschildt and Hooker went into the oil business in West Texas in the 1950s, the same time that Bush was working there as a Dresser Industries employee.  Speaking of Dresser Industries, it was closely aligned with a fashion/sportwear business in Dallas called Nardi’s.  DeMohrenschildt’s wife Jeanne worked at Nardi’s in the 1950s alongside Abraham Zapruder.  Yes, that Zapruder…the man who made the most infamous home movie of all time.  While Jeanne designed the clothing, Abe cut the patterns.  Think about that for a moment.  The man who filmed the murder of JFK worked closely with the wife of the accused assassin’s best friend.  My head hurts.  And the only people in the world who think this was just an incredible coincidence worked for either the Warren Commission or the American media.

The DeMohrenschildt family was steeped in an intelligence background.  George’s older brother Dmitri worked, on many occasions, with Allen Dulles of the OSS/CIA.  George himself knew, and did business with, the Rockefellers, George Brown of Brown and Root, and the William F. Buckley family which owned Pantepec Oil.  When DeMohrenschildt moved to Dallas in 1952 he joined the Dallas Petroleum Club and the Council on Foreign Relations; both organizations’ memberships lists read like a who’s who of Kennedy assassination suspects.  (Incredibly, DeMohrenschildt was also friends with the Bouviers, JFK’s in-laws, though this seems to be the one true coincidental connection in this matter.)

One of DeMohrenschildt’s most dangerous CIA assignments (one that he certainly would have refused had he known the consequences) was “shepherding” or “setting up” Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas in 1962-63.  DeMohrenschildt was chosen for the job because of his fluency in the Russian language and his knowledge of Russian culture.  Oswald, having lived in Russia on a low-level, false-defector mission for the CIA, was naturally drawn to DeMohrenschildt’s acumen in all things Russian.  DeMohrenschildt advised Oswald on all important matters before eventually passing off the patsy Oswald to Ruth Paine, another member of the White Russian community in Dallas with CIA ties.  Paine let Marina and the Oswald kids board in her home, which Lee visited on weekends.  Paine went out of her way to implicate Oswald in JFK’s murder. Meanwhile, DeMohrenschildt flew off to Haiti to do CIA business with dictator Papa Doc Duvalier.  This move also distanced DeMohrenschildt from the events of November 22, 1963.

Inevitably, DeMohrenschildt’s name came up in the Warren Commission hearings.  If Oswald’s associates had not been questioned, the Commission would have been exposed as the sham that we now know it was.  It was hardly a rough interrogation, though, as DeMohrenschildt was asked about his remarkable suntan and then dismissed.  Warren Commission member Allen Dulles, who certainly knew DeMohrenschildt, cleverly steered the questioning away from the most dangerous areas.

That would have been the end of it, and the trail would have gone cold, except that a couple of FBI memos addressing George H.W. Bush’s involvement in the aftermath of the assassination surfaced.  The memos refer to “George Bush” of the CIA having reported on anti-Castro community activity post-assassination and having named a suspect to be questioned.  But Bush has always denied being a CIA employee in 1963.  Oops…Bush got caught practicing spycraft (plausible deniability for being in Dallas the day Kennedy was murdered and snooping on a group of likely suspects).  Naturally serious investigators raised the suspiciousness of the Bush-DeMohrenschildt-Oswald connection. According to author Russ Baker (Family of Secrets: The Bush Dynasty, America’s Invisible Government, And The Hidden History Of The Last 50 Years),  “…in the spring of 1963, immediately after his final communication with Oswald, DeMohrenschildt had traveled to New York and Washington for meetins with CIA and military intelligence officials.  He even had met with a top aide to Vice President Johnson.  And the [Warren] commission certainly did not learn that one meeting in New York included Thomas Devine, then Poppy Bush’s business colleague in Zapata offshore, who was doing double duty for the CIA.”

After JFK’s murder, Bush, for obvious reasons, claims to have barely known DeMohrenschildt, but DeMohrenschildt did not reciprocate these feelings. When he was being hounded about his associations with Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas, DeMohrenschildt wrote a letter to his old pal Bush, who just happened to be head of the CIA at the time. The letter reeks of desperation.  DeMohrenschildt claimed his phones were bugged and he was being followed by “vigilantes.”  “Either the FBI is involved in this or they do not want to accept my complaints; I tried to write stupidly and unsuccessfully about Lee Harvey Oswald,” writes DeMohrenschildt. At the time, he knew he was in trouble because he was threatening to expose what he knew about JFK’s assassination.

Just a few months later DeMohrenschildt was found shot to death on the very day he was scheduled to be interviewed by the House Select Committee on Assassinations in 1977. The death was ruled a “suicide by shotgun blast.” Found in DeMohrenschildt’s belongings was the address and phone number of “Bush, George H.W., 1412 W. Ohio also Zapata Petroleum, Midland, Texas.” I guess Bush answered DeMohrenschildt’s letter after all. It is noteworthy that DeMohrenschildt was acquainted with most, if not all, the major suspects in the JFK assassination.  He befriended Dallas oil barons, he worked as a covert asset for the CIA, he set up Lee Harvey Oswald, and he even knew Lyndon Johnson.

I am still trying to make a connection between DeMohrenschildt and  the Joint Chiefs, specifically Curtis LeMay (This is not so far-fetched; recall DeMohrenschildt’s meeting with military intelligence officials in Washington in the spring of 1963.); then his association with the suspect list would be complete.  In Watergate, Deep Throat advised Woodward to follow the money.  In the JFK murder case, one need only follow George DeMohrenschildt to track the outline of the plot.

JFK Conspiracy Fact #4: The Suspects’ Own Words And The Words Of Others Indict The Guilty

JFK Conspiracy Fact #4: The Suspects’ Own Words And The Words Of Others Indict The Guilty

What follows is my list of the prime suspects in the murder of President Kennedy and the incriminating statements by them or others who knew them very well—

1)      The CIA and the Pentagon

”…as Kennedy’s [peace] speech reached out to Kruschev, it opened a still wider chasm between the president and his own military and intelligence advisers.  To the Pentagon and the CIA, the president’s words of peace at American University seemed to put him on the enemy’s list.”

–from JFK And The Unspeakable, by James Douglass

“One very high American official here, a man who has spent much of his life in the service of democracy, likened the CIA’s growth to a malignancy, and added he was not sure even the White House could control it any longer.

Unquestionably Mr. McNamara and Gen. Maxwell Taylor both got an earful from people who are beginning to fear the CIA is becoming a Third Force co-equal with President Diem’s regime and the U.S. Government – and answerable to neither.  If the U.S. ever experiences a military takeover, it will come from the CIA, and not the Pentagon.”

–from an article by Richard Starnes in the Washington Daily News, October 2, 1963

       2)   Lyndon Johnson and John Connally

“He [Yarborough] described how Connally and Johnson were screwing him; worse, he said they’d be after John Kennedy in a minute if they thought they could get away with it.”

–from Advance Man, by Jerry Bruno

       3) Allen Dulles

“That little Kennedy, he thought he was a god.”

–spoken by Allen Dulles to his collaborator Willie Morris of Harper’s

for an unpublished manuscript “The Confessions of Allen Dulles”

       4) David Atlee Phillips, Frank Sturgis, David Morales, Lucein Sarti, William Harvey

All implicated in E. Howard Hunt’s deathbed confession.

–from Rolling Stone article of April 2007

       5) George H.W. Bush and George DeMohrenschildt

“Maybe you will be able to bring a solution into the hopeless situation I find myself in.  My wife and I find ourselves surrounded by some vigilantes; our phone bugged; and we are being followed everywhere…I tried to write, stupidly and unsuccessfully, about Lee H. Oswald and must have angered a lot of people.  Could you do something to remove this net around us?  This will be my last request for help and I will not annoy you any more.”

–letter from George DeMohrenschildt to his good friend George H.W. Bush who was Director of the CIA at the time.  DeMohrenschildt was Oswald’s best friend in Dallas.  Shortly after this letter was written, DeMohrenschildt was found shot to death on the very day he was scheduled to testify to the House Select Committee on Assassinations .

6) Curtis LeMay

“Those goddamn Kennedys are gonna destroy this country if we don’t do something about this!”

                                            –from the movie Thirteen Days

JFK Conspiracy Fact #6: Prime Suspect Was Power-Mad Nazi Sympathizer and U.S. Corporate Elitist

An incomplete yet stunning biography of the Dulles brothers, written by Stephen Kinzer, delineates the utter control and totalitarian power that Allen and John Foster had over America and the world in the 1950s.  Allen Dulles was head of the CIA and John Foster Dulles ran the State Department.  Under Eisenhower, who essentially abrogated his domestic and foreign policies to these brothers, the Dulleses had free reign to overthrow foreign leaders whom they despised and maintain a secret imperialist dominance for American corporate interests around the globe.

Long before the ‘50s, in fact, the Dulleses were funneling U.S. dollars into Nazi Germany.  Their firm, Sullivan & Cromwell, helped finance I. G. Farben, the German chemical company which produced the Zyklon B gas used to murder millions of Jews in concentration camps, as well as Krupp A.G., Nazi weapons manufacturer.  John Foster was close friends with Reichsbank president Hjalmar Schact.  Allen signed his letters to Nazi officials with a respectful “Heil Hitler.”

Sullivan & Cromwell became so influential and powerful in American corporate spheres that the Dulleses were often rewarded with posts on many of their clients’ boards.  One was United Fruit, which, with Allen’s CIA help, overthrew duly elected Guatemalan president Jacobo Arbenz.  United Fruit had confiscated peasants’ land there for growing bananas at slave-labor costs.  When Arbenz tried to return the land to the peasants and nationalize the fruit-growing industry, UFC and the CIA ousted him.  The CIA earned the nickname Corporations’ Invisible Army.

Eisenhower turned a blind eye to this as long as the Dulles brothers kept America out of war.  Ike had seen enough death and destruction in World War II, and opted for another way to exert America’s dominance over the world.  So while he played golf with Bob Hope in Palm Springs, the Dulles brothers ran the country.

When Kennedy came into office, Allen, still head of the CIA, assumed he was still in charge.  But after the Bay of Pigs fiasco, Kennedy fired him.  This outraged the Eastern intelligence/business establishment, and Allen took out his revenge in Dallas.  To ensure the matter would be covered up properly and exculpate all guilty parties, LBJ appointed Allen to the Warren Commission…or was it the other way around? As de facto head of the Warren Commission, Dulles attended more meetings and hearings than any other member.  He misled witnesses, diverted evidence, misinformed his colleagues, and brushed aside all CIA culpability.  Funny what happens in a murder case when the lead investigator is also the prime suspect.

JFK Conspiracy Fact #26: There is Blatant Evidence of Military-Industrial-Intelligence Complex Involvement

If the murder of JFK had ever been seriously prosecuted, there would have been plenty of suspects to indict…most of them with connections to what President Eisenhower called “the military-industrial complex.” One of the primary suspects would have been D.H. Byrd, Dallas millionaire/businessman and close friend of LBJ, the man who had the most to gain from Kennedy’s death. Byrd was a right-wing radical who had close associations with other Kennedy haters in Dallas, including H.L. Hunt, Clint Murchison, Sid Richardson, George H.W. Bush, David Atlee Phillips, and Neil Mallon. Byrd, with the help of his great friend, Curtis LeMay (Air Force chief of staff and profound Kennedy hater), formed the Civil Air Patrol. CAP members included Lee Harvey Oswald, James Bath (drug-running buddy of George W. Bush), John Liggett, David Ferrie, and others, all of whom were recruited into the CIA. Byrd also owned Ling-Temco-Vought, which built fighter planes. After LBJ became president and started the Vietnam War, Ling-Temco-Vought got a huge defense contract to build fighter planes for the Air Force. Oh, and did I mention, Byrd also owned the Texas School Book Depository building.

Oswald was steered to the job at the TSBD by his CIA handler, Ruth Paine, the Oswald family landlady. Ruth was married to Michael Paine, engineer at Bell Helicopter of Dallas/Fort Worth, another big Vietnam defense contractor. Michael was descended from American royalty, the Forbes family, on one side…and from the inventor of the Bell helicopter on the other. Bell made a fortune off its Huey helicopters. Michael’s boss at Bell was one Walter Dornberger, ex-Nazi V-2 rocket engineer who should have been hanged at Nuremberg for war crimes. He was saved from the hangman’s noose by Allen Dulles and the CIA (OSS at the time) in 1946 through Operation Paperclip which evacuated Nazi scientists, doctors, spies, and engineers to the US. It was Dulles who placed Dornberger with Bell, under the auspices of the CIA and the military-industrial complex. Dulles’s mistress, Mary Bancroft, was best friends with Michael Paine’s mother.

From page 170 of James Douglass’s book JFK And The Unspeakable: “Ruth Hyde Paine, Michael’s wife and Marina Oswald’s caregiver, was the daughter of William Avery Hyde. From October 1964 to August 1967, Hyde was the AID (Agency For International Development) Regional Insurance Advisor for all of Latin America. Hyde’s job description was to provide technical assistance from the US State Department to insurance cooperatives being launched in south and central America. A later AID director, former Ohio governor John Gilligan, admitted that ‘AID field offices were infiltrated from top to bottom with CIA people. It was pretty well-known in the agency who they were and what they were up to…The idea was to plant operatives in every kind of activity we had overseas, government, volunteer, religious, every kind.'”

Ruth Hyde Paine was also the younger sister of Sylvia Hyde Hoke…[a declassified] CIA Security File memorandum…noted that Sylvia Hoke was identified as a CIA employee.”
The salient point here is that Ruth Paine was CIA and so was her family. We know Allen Dulles was CIA…and here he was with direct connections to the patsy’s handler, the defense contractor which reaped billions off LBJ’s war, and the commission which whitewashed the assassination. This makes Allen a key operative in the planning and aftermath.

When the CIA/military-industrial complex removed the president, all their greedy, conscienceless, sociopathic defense contractors got rich on the blood of dead soldiers in Vietnam. Just like in Iraq. Halliburton KBR and Blackwater got their billions, and the ruthless warmongers got their bloodlust fix.

The murder of JFK was the seminal moment of the 20th century, for it is when the American war state and its contractors, using the CIA as their executive action arm, took over the country and insured that the presidency would never be open to again to one such as Kennedy–a free-thinking iconoclast, who stood up for us against the dark forces which run America for their own benefit.

JFK Conspiracy Fact #43: JFK Was at War With HIs Generals and National Security Advisors

While the Cold War was at its peak, most Americans were unaware of the internal war taking place at the highest levels of the U.S. government.  It began in the summer of 1961 when JFK’s own military hierarchy and intelligence advisors pressured him to launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike against the Soviet Union.  According to author David Talbott, at a July 1961 National Security Council meeting Kennedy was presented with a plan for “…a surprise nuclear attack by the Joint Chiefs Chairman, Lyman Lemnitzer, and by Allen Dulles, CIA Director.  Kennedy, disgusted, got up and left in the middle of the meeting, and then remarked to his Secretary of State Dean Rusk, ‘…and we call ourselves the human race.'”

For his part, Air Force Chief of Staff Curtis LeMay publicly escalated the war with his Commander-in-Chief by declaring to a news reporter that “…nuclear war is inevitable.  I expect to exchange nuclear blows with the Russians by the end of the year.”

Kennedy resisted.  Amidst all the dangerous warmongering of his military and national security advisors, he bravely stood alone.  He knew that a nuclear first strike would not knock out Russia’s nuclear capabilities, and Russian leader Nikita Kruschev would be forced by Kremlin hawks to retaliate.  From there, nuclear escalation and global annihilation would have ensued.  JFK realized that the only way to avoid all-out nuclear war was to not start a nuclear war.  To this end, he fulfilled what he considered the primary responsibility of any American president: keep the country out of war if at all possible.  He considered the nuclear hawks in his own cabinet madmen.  The Joint Chiefs and the CIA knew Russian nuclear retaliation could wipe out half the U.S., yet they kept pressuring JFK for war.

Kennedy finally fired CIA sacred cows–Allen Dulles, Dick Bissell and Charles Cabell–in late 1961.  This only made Lemay and Lemnitzer scream louder for war, even though as Lemay readily admitted, “…nuclear attacks would probably incinerate New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington and Detroit.”  The generals targeted Cuba during the 1962 Cuban missile crisis, but JFK thwarted them again.  He dodged a nuclear catastrophe by choosing the “safe” resolution of a quarantine against Soviet ships carrying warheads to Cuba.  It worked, but the right-wing hawks in the U.S. government were not happy with the popular, peace-loving president.  The Pentagon and the CIA began calling JFK a traitor and Communist-appeaser behind his back. There was only one option left for them.

Journalist Richard Starnes hinted at this option in an incredible article published in October 1963.  Starnes quoted a high-ranking U.S. official as saying, “The CIA is a malignancy, guilty of insubordination, and the White House cannot control it any longer.  If the U.S. ever experiences a coup d’état it will come from the CIA.”

A month later JFK was dead.  It is a historical fact that his own military and intelligence advisors had the motive, means and opportunity to overthrow him.
